Hawaii 2011 - Day Four....

On Wednesday, Nanna and Pa-Paw went to take an early morning helicopter tour of the island for their anniversary... so we decided to head down to grab some chairs to call ours for the day!
Eleanor waiting patiently for her sunscreen to soak in.... this was one of the worst parts for her every time... we put her in a suit, cover her in lotion then make her look at the water - I guess I would be frustrated too!
And Daddy and Eleanor went straight to the pool.... with her cool shades of course...
They stayed on while she swam - for the most part! She normally gives it about 5 minutes, max... but I think she finally understands they protect her eyes :). We swam and played until nap time then took a break to put Punkin Bottom down.... after lunch, we went straight back to our chairs with Nanna and Pa-Paw....
And Eleanor discovered Momma's favorite drink... which means the rest of the trip I never did get to enjoy a full one :)... Eleanor loves LAVA FLOWS (and so does this preggo momma = obviously it is virgin, so it is basically like a strawberry / banana / coconut milkshake - what is not to like?!)
She basically stole it from me...
After having her fill of sugar, we headed to the beach to play for a bit.... still having to encourage Eleanor to walk in the sand, she just was not getting it!
But she loved to sit and play with Daddy.... best buds on the beach together.
That is until the tide changed and the waves came up to wear they were sitting.... Eleanor jumped into Daddy's lap REALLY fast :).
And she was done.
For dinner we headed back to Lahaina and ate at Cheesburger in Paradise... followed of course by gelato that BJ gets every time we are down there... Eleanor went crazy for that too... goodness, she was living it up on vacation with her sugar intake, woops!
After dinner and dessert we went back to the villa and played some more 42... we can't get enough of that game, so BJ and I love when people enjoy playing it too! The girls one, again :).

Rector 2.0

So, on April 2, 2011, I woke up to this... I immediately showed Eleanor to confirm... "Momma, are you kidding me??!!" So, we held off telling our families until Easter and had a great plan to reveal Eleanor as the BIG SISTER at the dinner table... we didn't think about that lunch was right after her nap, so she was a little groggy and looks unhappy, but we couldn't keep it anymore.... So a few days later we tried to take some pictures again to prove that Eleanor is VERY excited! We can't wait to meet you, Baby Rector #2!! As of now, we look forward to November 22nd when you will enter this world... (you are due December 1, but because I will have a C-section, you birthday is currently scheduled for November 22!)... but we are SO thankful to the Lord for your life as you grow inside of Momma right now and we are praying FERVENTLY for you... same as we did for your precious, big sister... healthy baby, who chooses Jesus at an early age and never once doubts that Mom...

ALOOOOHA....

T hat's right friends - we are packing our bags and taking a little BABYMOON next month. BJ surprised me last week and had this little ditty all worked out... ...In fact I did work out all the details, only to rework them a week later after the final go-ahead from Karen. Her rationale was appreciated and wise, albeit not well recieved at first. I called her the fun-killer. Ironic I know... "I'm a fun girl!" her famous self proclamation. (this portion written by BJ) N ot going to lie - when BJ first told me about this trip I was a little stressed (it's the planner and realist in me)... I mean, our life is crazy - and obviously finances are about to go haywire when we get into our new house and bring baby home... but as a good reminder, I have been brought back down to earth in realizing that there will ALWAYS be an excuse, we have more freedom now then we probably will ever again and God has ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS been our Faithful provider... we have the funds, so i...

15 weeks...

So, I have become a blog stalker over this past year... it is just so easy to get onto trails from friend's blog lists until all of the sudden you are committed to reading a complete strangers musings daily. Creepy, I know. Regardless, one of my very favorite blogs that I started to follow actually did a spot on a family friend of mine (the blogger's sister-in-law) throughout her pregnancy... she took weekly pictures and both parents would write a letter / our thoughts to the baby / about the baby until she was born. I found myself crying every time I read what they would write and so anxious to see her weekly pictures... I am not going to be as fancy as what they did, but I do really love the idea of charting my body's changes, my emotional experience and prayers from beginning to birth... so go ahead and call me a copycat! 15 Weeks Whether it is noticeable to anyone else but me (I know BJ notices but he is nice and acts like I look the same), my body has changed so much ...
