20 Weeks

Well BR #2, this week has been nothing shy of BUSY.... so glad that I have finally started to feel completely better (no more nausea or cold!) because we have been going 90mph to nothing! The most exciting thing that happened this week is that your Aunt Caroline got married!!! Caroline has been one of Momma's very best friends since I was 13 years old... I literally do not have a memory from junior high to the present where she is not part of it... we were bests all through junior high, high school, college and even still today... a rare find, today, if you ask me. We have been through life (Eleanor's birth) and death, and EVERYTHING in-between, together. So needless to say, her wedding week (20 weeks with you inside) was a very special week for me.

Immediately after the wedding, we packed up with Aunt Mindy, Uncle Josh and Lucy headed towards Buena Vista, Colorado (Hence the picture!).... it was SO nice to get out of Dallas during the massive heat wave we are having this summer, but more importantly, SO fun to spend time with our best friends on the road and at their cabin. Again, Momma and Daddy are so blessed to have friends like Mindy and Josh... truly they will be more like an Aunt / Uncle or second parents to you and Eleanor than our friends.... and we are so blessed by that.

Of course spending time with just 2 of my best friends makes me reflect and FERVENTLY pray for the friendships you will make in this world. First and foremost, we pray that you find the true friend that sticks closer than a brother (or big sister!!), Jesus. That you will hold fast to his salvation and a relationship with Him from an early age and find great security in that. Secondly, that you and Eleanor (and other siblings that will prayerfully follow) will be the BEST of friends. Our strongest desire for our family is that we would not only love each other, but that we would truly ENJOY each other... that you and Eleanor would not only respect the other, but that you would be one another's confidant, soul mate, play mate and FRIEND. Lastly, oh that you would be blessed the way that Momma and Daddy are with the best of friends in this world... not just that we have a great time with (because we always do!) but that truly know our hearts, love us, encourage us, pray for us and are a large part of our sanctification process here on this earth. That you would find friends that love Jesus, love you and will be a TRUE friend through the good, the bad, the ugly, in life and in death....

BR #2, we love you... and we can't wait for the day when you consider Momma and Daddy your friend too.... we know it may take 3, 15, 20 or 25 years... but we pray you desire our friendship, too. We love you!

Rector 2.0

So, on April 2, 2011, I woke up to this... I immediately showed Eleanor to confirm... "Momma, are you kidding me??!!" So, we held off telling our families until Easter and had a great plan to reveal Eleanor as the BIG SISTER at the dinner table... we didn't think about that lunch was right after her nap, so she was a little groggy and looks unhappy, but we couldn't keep it anymore.... So a few days later we tried to take some pictures again to prove that Eleanor is VERY excited! We can't wait to meet you, Baby Rector #2!! As of now, we look forward to November 22nd when you will enter this world... (you are due December 1, but because I will have a C-section, you birthday is currently scheduled for November 22!)... but we are SO thankful to the Lord for your life as you grow inside of Momma right now and we are praying FERVENTLY for you... same as we did for your precious, big sister... healthy baby, who chooses Jesus at an early age and never once doubts that Mom...

ALOOOOHA....

T hat's right friends - we are packing our bags and taking a little BABYMOON next month. BJ surprised me last week and had this little ditty all worked out... ...In fact I did work out all the details, only to rework them a week later after the final go-ahead from Karen. Her rationale was appreciated and wise, albeit not well recieved at first. I called her the fun-killer. Ironic I know... "I'm a fun girl!" her famous self proclamation. (this portion written by BJ) N ot going to lie - when BJ first told me about this trip I was a little stressed (it's the planner and realist in me)... I mean, our life is crazy - and obviously finances are about to go haywire when we get into our new house and bring baby home... but as a good reminder, I have been brought back down to earth in realizing that there will ALWAYS be an excuse, we have more freedom now then we probably will ever again and God has ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS been our Faithful provider... we have the funds, so i...

15 weeks...

So, I have become a blog stalker over this past year... it is just so easy to get onto trails from friend's blog lists until all of the sudden you are committed to reading a complete strangers musings daily. Creepy, I know. Regardless, one of my very favorite blogs that I started to follow actually did a spot on a family friend of mine (the blogger's sister-in-law) throughout her pregnancy... she took weekly pictures and both parents would write a letter / our thoughts to the baby / about the baby until she was born. I found myself crying every time I read what they would write and so anxious to see her weekly pictures... I am not going to be as fancy as what they did, but I do really love the idea of charting my body's changes, my emotional experience and prayers from beginning to birth... so go ahead and call me a copycat! 15 Weeks Whether it is noticeable to anyone else but me (I know BJ notices but he is nice and acts like I look the same), my body has changed so much ...
