Eleanor :: Three Months Old

I can't believe another month has come and gone... sweet baby girl, the days just go by way too quickly with you... I literally wish that I could stop time some days, hold you forever, make you laugh with the greatest of ease and spend all of my time with you (and daddy!). Yet again, I feel like it is so necessary to let you know the JOY you have brought into our home.... your presence in our family has been the greatest gift... We love you so much and believe that the Lord has created you for GREAT things... you are so unbelievably wonderful! This month was so fun spending our time with you... we can tell that you are constantly learning, continually loving life... your eyes are always wide open, you sing sing sing loud and all of the time, you respond when we talk to you... it is just too fun. What an amazing personality you have... you are SUCH a ham, already performing for your adoring fans (and there are MANY).

*And as you can see, you are starting to have much stronger and deliberate movements... for instance, you did NOT want to sit by Penny today... you kept kicking her until she fell off of the chair... too funny.
*Look at the sweet, peaceful little girl you are... a typical day looks like this:
Up at 8am (half of the time I have to start the waking process by opening your door and turning on music), you eat and play for about 30 minutes, nap for about an hour, up to eat, play, eat, play, nap (MAYBE), eat, play, nap (MAYBE), eat, play, nap (MAYBE), eat, play/bath, bed at 8pm, dream feed at 10pm, and you are OUT!!
*Now that it has finally cooled off here in Dallas, your VERY favorite thing to do is to play outside... if you can tell that it is light outside, you want to be there... so, the front yard has become our new hangout!
*Oh the fun you have on that little blanket outside... you squeal, and sing, and laugh, and scream, and ooh and ahhh..... literally, all of these things. You.Love.Outside.
*You have started to have great control over your head... you can hold it up all by yourself!
*When you smile, your face completes squishes up and your gums show because you smile SO BIG!
* You have so many more waking hours now... you definitely are a great sleeper, but during the day you take little cat-naps and love to play... so you play on your playmat a lot and you recently fell in love with this little bouncer / vibrator. *On October 18, your future best friend Lucy Kate Rives was born....

*Out came the BUMBO seat... I just love you in this little thing! Daddy and I set you right up on the table in between us and you just laugh and laugh....

*I personally think you are going to be an early teether... your hands are your very favorite. You are still a fan of your paci, but you always prefer a good finger or two, or five in your mouth... and with that has come TONS of slobber. Lovely.
Too much.... this picture is just too much.
*I also think you are going to be an early crawler (I kind of hope that I am wrong, because I know with mobility will come an entire new learning curve!) but even though you still do not prefer tummy time, you have started to really move your legs while on your tummy. You actually moved them up to a bent knee and lunged forward once, but I am obviously not counting that as a crawl, it was just a crazy mishap...

*You have officially moved out of Momma and Daddy's room... we were sad to see you go, but you are now in your crib! I was so paranoid the first night you slept in your bedroom, but little girl, you did awesome.... slept for 9.25 hours, no peeps! You are unreal.
*I LOVE LOVE LOVE putting you to bed every night and greeting you in the morning.... both are generally always the same thing... I duck over the rail of your crib and whisper that I love you and you SQUEAL and LAUGH... if you are going to bed, you typically then smile and close your eyes... if you are waking up, you typically then smile and then start breathing fast as you wait for me to unswaddle you... you are hungry in the mornings!
*Changing your diaper is still one of your favorite activities... I don't know how you know when you are on the changing pad, but it seems like whenever we put you on it, you immediately turn into a show stopper... you love it!
*Your new favorite game is to stretch and lock your legs... you will do this when we are changing your diaper, when we are playing on your blankets, really, you will do it whenever you want a good laugh... because it is so funny and I doubt it will ever get old...*Momma started back at work this month.... so my time with you is absolutely the most precious, sacred thing to my day... I can't wait to wake up every morning to talk to you, for you to talk to me in your own little language... I soak up every single time I can be with you.

*You are a true gift... to know that the Lord created you and knows you so well, He knows who you will become, what gifts you will have, the character you will carry... oh the comfort that brings your Momma and Daddy. To know that our love for you is so insignificant compared to the love Christ Jesus has for you is humbling... because little girl, we love you more than we love ourselves. You are a beautiful little girl... outside, of course... but we can already tell that you will have such wonderful inner beauty... your countenance says it all... our happy, peaceful, joy-filled, loving little poop, WE LOVE YOU.

Psalm 126:3 " The LORD has done great things for us, and we are filled with joy."

What a sweet post about eleanor and her 3rd month! It is amazing she sleeps that good and that long already! I remember the transition from our room to kinleys room. I slept on the floor on an air mattress in front of her crib for the night. Big transition! Love the posts!

Rector 2.0

So, on April 2, 2011, I woke up to this... I immediately showed Eleanor to confirm... "Momma, are you kidding me??!!" So, we held off telling our families until Easter and had a great plan to reveal Eleanor as the BIG SISTER at the dinner table... we didn't think about that lunch was right after her nap, so she was a little groggy and looks unhappy, but we couldn't keep it anymore.... So a few days later we tried to take some pictures again to prove that Eleanor is VERY excited! We can't wait to meet you, Baby Rector #2!! As of now, we look forward to November 22nd when you will enter this world... (you are due December 1, but because I will have a C-section, you birthday is currently scheduled for November 22!)... but we are SO thankful to the Lord for your life as you grow inside of Momma right now and we are praying FERVENTLY for you... same as we did for your precious, big sister... healthy baby, who chooses Jesus at an early age and never once doubts that Mom...

Just Mauied...

So... in the spirit of the final blog about our wedding - it is time we move on to more important things for the blogger world hear about - it is only fair that we share some of our amazing honeymoon! Us, and about 5 other honeymooning couples on AA Flight 6 on October 12, 2008, journey to the honeymoon capital of the world -- MAUI!! One of the things I regret most is not taking up Mindy's offer and bring along her legit camera - we really did a bad job at capturing the best vacation ever, but we'll remember.... It all started here - the most magical sendoff I could ever imagine for my wedding.... and there we go... off to start life together as Mr. and Mrs. William Rector...! Dum Di Dum Dum....the next day (check out my awesome ratted hair) We had to get up at 7am to catch our flight - note: this is NOT recommended for anyone getting married-- either leave after noon or the Monday... wow that was rough! On-board AA Flight 6 direct to Maui! BJ and I cruising to our hotel in o...

ALOOOOHA....

T hat's right friends - we are packing our bags and taking a little BABYMOON next month. BJ surprised me last week and had this little ditty all worked out... ...In fact I did work out all the details, only to rework them a week later after the final go-ahead from Karen. Her rationale was appreciated and wise, albeit not well recieved at first. I called her the fun-killer. Ironic I know... "I'm a fun girl!" her famous self proclamation. (this portion written by BJ) N ot going to lie - when BJ first told me about this trip I was a little stressed (it's the planner and realist in me)... I mean, our life is crazy - and obviously finances are about to go haywire when we get into our new house and bring baby home... but as a good reminder, I have been brought back down to earth in realizing that there will ALWAYS be an excuse, we have more freedom now then we probably will ever again and God has ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS been our Faithful provider... we have the funds, so i...
