Rub a Dub Dub

The morning after we brought Eleanor home, my mom and I gave her a bath... a first for this Momma! I have huge counters in our kitchen, and a HUGE kitchen sink (that will eventually be used as a little tub for her), so we set up shop and prepared to sponge bathe our little Eleanor!

Girlfriend doesn't know what is coming yet... so she quietly sat serene...

Cue warm water, soap and a washcloth and Eleanor decided she was NOT too sure about this so-called-bath!

There are some REALLY funny pictures of her screaming her head off... but let's just say that I want my daughter to speak to me when she is older, so for modesty's sake... imagine this picture with Eleanor's mouth open, screaming her little lungs out :)....
Drying off before receiving her first body massage... Eleanor has it made... every time she starts to cry when I am putting lotion on her, I let her know that people pay big bucks to get a great massage, so she should enjoy it!
All done... clean and warm!!
And all tuckered out... bath time was just too much activity for this little lady... she cashed out, but if you ask me... I think she figured out that Momma was right about body massage, look how relaxed she is!!

12 years later.

Tonight, 12 years ago, I enrolled as a Rodan + Fields consultant. I’ve shared so many times about my journey and how I am still taken by surprise for that level of bravery to embark on a professional journey I was so scared to do. Today, on what should be the celebration of my Rodanniversary, has instead turned out to be one of the most surreal, painful, and grief-filled moments of my entire life. The Rector’s livelihood was taken away in an instant with a restructuring of R+F’s business model… I woke up today having no clue I would be receiving this news and am finishing the day pinching myself to see if I am really and truly experiencing this nightmare.  I have one million thoughts and none at all at the exact same time. Rector 2.0

So, on April 2, 2011, I woke up to this... I immediately showed Eleanor to confirm... "Momma, are you kidding me??!!" So, we held off telling our families until Easter and had a great plan to reveal Eleanor as the BIG SISTER at the dinner table... we didn't think about that lunch was right after her nap, so she was a little groggy and looks unhappy, but we couldn't keep it anymore.... So a few days later we tried to take some pictures again to prove that Eleanor is VERY excited! We can't wait to meet you, Baby Rector #2!! As of now, we look forward to November 22nd when you will enter this world... (you are due December 1, but because I will have a C-section, you birthday is currently scheduled for November 22!)... but we are SO thankful to the Lord for your life as you grow inside of Momma right now and we are praying FERVENTLY for you... same as we did for your precious, big sister... healthy baby, who chooses Jesus at an early age and never once doubts that Mom...
